Theory, History, Research in Writing
This section focuses on writing from a theoretical, historical, and research-based perspective. It includes selected pieces from “Theories of Writing,” "Topics in Writing Theory," and “Composition Theory.” There are also links included to visit the ePortfolio or Twitter websites for each of these classes.
WRIT 2000
Theories of Writing
These assignments were written for "Theories of Writing" in the Fall of 2016. The "Writing Theorems" are inspired by Walter J. Ong's writing theorems in Orality and Literacy. The "Theory of Writing" Reflection was completed as part of the final ePortfolio project. If you would like to see my extended Theories of Writing ePortfolio, click here.
Theory is the Gift that Keeps on Giving
I Photoshopped this image and put it in my Theories of Writing portfolio. I liked it so much that I also added it to my Composition Theory portfolio. Now it lives on here.

WRIT 2500
Topics in Writing Theory
These assignments, written in the Winter of 2017, were two of the three components of the final project for this class. Me and my partner created a community-based campaign around a Twitter account called "#DUHaveAnOpinion," meant to spark meaningful conversations on DU's campus. The collaboratively-written proposal gives and outline of our project and the individual reflection synthesizes the project outcomes after presenting to our class. If you would like to visit the Twitter account created for this class project, click here.
ENGL 3818
Composition Theory
This assignment, written in the Winter of 2018, was included in my final ePortfolio for "Composition Theory." It is a formal research paper directed toward an academic audience centered on the keywords "Revision," "Reflection," and "Transfer." If you would like to see my extended Composition Theory ePortfolio, click here.
