This section focuses on writing from a theoretical, historical, and research-based perspective. This section includes a Deconstruction of “Communication and Popular Culture,” a research/argumentative paper on Hamilton: An American Musical with comments about rhetorical choices. It also features a Reflection on a research/literary paper about surveillance, human connection, and mediation between virtual and real in Ready Player One. If you would like to see writing from the Analysis category, click here

My major is English: Textual Studies. This section includes a piece that I wrote for “20th Century American Fiction” about race relations, financial gain, and human nature in Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian. In addition, it includes selected pieces about Muriel Sparks's The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and defamiliarization of peas in "Letter to a Frozen Peas Manufacturer" from "Literary Criticism: 20th Century." If you would like to see writing from the Major category, click here

This section includes an essay written for "Writing and Research" about heart symbolism and anatomy, an essay about leguminous crops written for "People, Places, & Landscapes," and an essay about deceptive representation of the “sinister yogi” figure in ancient, medieval, and modern texts written for “Yoga in History and Practice." If you would like to see writing from the Common Curriculum category, click here

This section includes an essay I wrote in 2015 for my FSEM, “Reading Maps: Literature, Culture, and Cartography” about the proposed "Star Wars Land” in Disneyland.
